Recently, Ningbo's first humanoid robot training ground in Cixi was officially put into use, and the Ningbo Center of the OpenAtom OpenLET Embodied AI Open Source Dataset Community was inaugurated simultaneously. Professor Zhong Qiubo, Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence of our university, has been appointed as the Director of the Center. This marks another practical achievement in our university's efforts to deepen the integration of industry and education, building a practical bridge for students majoring in AI and related fields to reach the industrial frontier.
The training ground accurately simulates real-world scenarios across nine pillar industries in Cixi, including home appliances, automobiles, textiles, and commercial services, deploying 40 embodied AI robots. With its capabilities in data collection and algorithm optimization within real environments, the training ground fills the regional gap in specialized humanoid robot training platforms. Furthermore, it is highly complementary to the development of our university's core majors, such as Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Science and Technology, providing valuable "real-world combat" soil for both teaching and scientific research.
